RIBA Plan of Work Stages

STAGE 0: STRATEGIC DEFINITION

The best means of achieving the Client requirements is confirmed and a site appraisal is undertaken.

STAGE 1: PREPARATION & BRIEF

The project brief is approved by the client and confirmed that it can be accommodated on the site. Site surveys are carried out at this stage.

STAGE 2: CONCEPT DESIGN

The architectural concept is approved by the client and aligned to the project brief.

Pre-application planning advice can be sought at this stage.

STAGE 3: SPATIAL COORDINATION

The architectural and engineering information is spatially coordinated.

The planning application is prepared and submitted

STAGE 4: TECHNICAL DESIGN

All design information required to manufacture and construct the project is completed.

The Building Regulations Application is submitted.

STAGE 5: MANUFACTURING & CONSTRUCTION

Manufacturing, construction and commissoning is completed.

STAGE 6: HANDOVER

The building is handed over, aftercare is initiated and the building contract is concluded.

STAGE 7: USE

The building is used, operated and maintained efficiently.

ARCHITECTURE

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Our wealth of experience allows us to understand the process of developing a scheme from inception to completion and guide the design through the key stages, whilst keeping the work on track to achieve the agreed project criteria and milestones with the client and other teams.
Our dedicated project management team deliver the project deliverables whilst also keeping to the agreed timescales and budget.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Not only can we advise on colour, material and design choices but we have the experience to advise on the specification of a wide range of environments.
We can offer a fully rounded approach and can provide detailed furniture layouts and specifications to complete the package. Interior details are key to the success of any scheme, and we take great pride in being part of that detailed development.
We can provide details of reception desks, built in cabinetry and built in furniture design.

PRINCIPLE DESIGNER

The safe practice of design and architecture is fundamental to any project, large or small. Certified to ISO45001, we ensure we are continually improving and monitoring the health and safety risks of all our projects and designs.
We offer full principle design services alongside our designs.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN

We can design hard and soft proposals to suit specific environments and help to create more enjoyable, relaxing spaces. We recognise the significance of diverse, engaging spaces that not only promote the building and emphasise its key design features but also contribute to the overall enjoyment of the building as an extension of the structure itself. A deeper understanding of the buildings locality and requirements enable us to create green spaces with the clients needs in mind, whether that is enjoyable private residential gardens, community gardens, communal spaces, integrated pedestrian and cycle pathways or outdoor therapy spaces.

HERITAGE, LISTED OR CONSERVATION AREA PROPERTIES

As architects we have experience of a great variety of residential and commercial developments carried out in both conservation areas and heritage zones and sites next to listed buildings. This has given us great experience in working with the local planning and conservation departments. In addition, with the latest improvements in building regulations, the necessary requirements and effects these have on the designs and costs of schemes of this nature.

We utilise the latest softwares to provide our clients with 3D presentations of their proposed designs.
This service gives people the ability to better imagine the design in a more tangible sense, visually seeing the concept from every angle.

We provide graphic design services to create custom signage for buildings, branding concepts and much more. Whether big welcome signs or small door identifiers, we put just as much care into the finer presentational details as we do the overall concept.
